These battery-operated creatures offer all the fun of a live pet with none of the mess or responsibility. They can be hard to find around Christmastime, so it's not a bad idea to stock up earlier in the year. Zhu Zhu pets are relatively inexpensive, but don't forget that your child may also want some of the accessories, like the tunnel or the hamster wheel, that are associated with Zuh Zuh pets.

Don't be surprised if Settlers of Catan is the must-have board game for Christmas 2011. In the game, you are in charge of a group of settlers on the remote island of Catan. Every game is different, as the board is dynamic and changes every game. You build settlements and trade with other players. This game is appropriate for children ages ten and up.
Thor, Captain America, X-Men, Green Lantern and Transformers Action Figures
Every year, there's a new superhero movie and, of course, a new line of tie-in toys. This year, the big movies are Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America, X-Men: First Class, Green Lantern and the third installment of the Transformers series. You probably can't go wrong with action figures from any of these films.

Lego never gets boring because there's no limit to what you can build with it. Every boy on the planet (and many of the girls) will love the chance to build whatever he can imagine, take apart his creation and build then build something new.
